The job of the Mosquito Abatement Department is to keep all of the citizens in Sevier County safe from mosquito diseases like West Nile, Eastern Equine, Western Equine, and any other disease caused by mosquitoes. We accommodate the public as needed and we always do any job the County Commission recommends, such as spraying all city and town parks for the fourth and 24th of July.

Additionally the department aerial-sprays the Sevier River drainage as needed and larvicides dead water in April, May, and June. Mosquito Abatement also sets traps and identifies the different types of mosquitoes in the area biweekly.

Summer Spray Schedule

• Sunday - Redmond, Glenwood / Venice, and Monroe
• Monday - Salina, West Richfield and area, and Annabella and area
• Tuesday - Aurora, Field Northeast Richfield, and Joseph / Sevier and area
• Wednesday - Sigurd and area, Austin / Central Valley, and Elsinore
• Thursday - Makeup night and hot spots
• Friday - Off
• Saturday - Off
