Ken May

Appointed: March, 2017 Term Expires: December, 2018

Ken served as the general manager of the Sufco Mine from March 1993 to August 2016.  Sufco is the largest and safest mine in Utah and in 2006 was the largest single longwall producing mine in the United States.  He's also worked in Utah State government with the Utah Division of Oil, Gas and Mining giving him experience in the public sector.

He was educated in Green River, Utah during his high school years and completed an associate's degree in civil engineering at the University of Utah.  He completed a bachelor's degree in biology and a Masters of Business Administration, both from Utah State University.  Ken has also completed formal course work in the U.S. Military.

He has substantial experience dealing with public lands issues, environmental compliance matters, and private sector operations.  He understands the need to balance the competing interests in public land access, protection, and multiple use.
