Options Overview
This is a brief overview of the benefits currently offered by Sevier County Government and is subject to change without notice. The following is information based on full-time employment. Part-time and seasonal employees are generally not eligible for benefits. Medical, dental, and vision insurance becomes effective the first day of the month following the employee’s hire date.

  • Medical Insurance - Sevier County offers a High Deductible plan through Cigna. At this time there is no premium cost to the employee for the high deductible plan. 
  • Health Savings Account (HSA) - Sevier County contributes to a Health Savings Account (HSA) with HealthEquity for those on the County's High Deductible plan. All qualified employees may also contribute to the HSA and this account allows employees to use pretaxed dollars to pay for eligible health care expenses.
  • Dental Insurance - Dental insurance is with Cigna and is provided by the County to all eligible employees at no cost at this time.   
  • Vision insurance - Vision insurance is with Eye Med and is provided by the County to all eligible employees at no cost at this time.
  • Long-term/Short-term Disability Insurance - Sevier County provides Long-term disability coverage for all eligible employees at no cost to the employee.  If an employee chooses to add a short-term disability policy, the employee will be required to pay the additional cost. Lincoln Financial is the carrier for these policies.
  • Basic Term life/Dependent Term Life/Voluntary Life insurance - Sevier County provides basic life/AD&D for employee, spouse and dependent children. The County pays the full cost of the basic term life benefits; ($50,000, $10,000, $5,000). If an employee chooses to add additional life insurance, the employee will be required to pay the additional cost. LifeMap is the carrier for these policies.
  • Utah state retirement system - Participation in the Utah Retirement System (URS) pension plan is mandatory for most employees. Plans vary based on employee’s hire date. The county pays all or a portion depending on which URS plan the employee is eligible to participate. This valuable benefit provides retirement income based upon salary, length of service, and/or contributions. Please visit the URS website for more information.
  • 401k plan - Sevier County provides a 401k Defined Benefit plan in which all eligible employees may choose to participate through payroll deduction. Sevier County may contribute a match for employees in the URS Tier 2 system.  Nationwide is the carrier for this plan.
  • Voluntary Supplemental Insurance - Sevier County offers voluntary supplemental insurance for critical illness & accident.  Sevier County does not pay the premium for this plan it is paid by the employee.  The carrier for this plan is Allstate.
