Recording Fees
Useful Resources
Recording fees are set by the Utah Code in Section 17-21-18.5 and are uniform statewide.

Note: Recording fees are subject to change if the Utah Code changes.
 
Recording Fees
  • First page (legal or letter size) - $10
  • Each additional page - $2
  • Back of page if typed on - $2
  • Each additional legal description (includes ¼ sections) - $1
  • Each additional reference to another document by book and page / entry number - $1
  • Each right of way, easement, water rights, mineral rights, exception or reservation for canal, road, alley, or similar item (anything that says "also," "excepting therefrom," or "together with") - $1
  • Each additional name over two (first or second party including "also known as," "formerly known as," "successor to," "attorney in fact," etc.) - $1
  • Real Estate Settlement and Procedures Act (RESPA) documents
    • Assignment of Deed of Trust recorded concurrently with Deed of Trust - $14
    • Deed of Conveyance - $14
    • Deed of Trust - $40
  • Noncompliance fee (see the Utah State Code 17-21-20 for more information) - $2 per page
  • Mining location notice or proof of labor
    • First page (legal or letter size) - $10
    • Each additional page - $2
    • Back of page if typed on - $2
    • Each additional mining claim (after first one) - $1
    • Each right of way - $1
    • Each additional name (after first two) - $1
  • Plat maps: Annexation, subdivision, planned unit development (PUD), or condo
    • Each sheet - $30
    • Each lot or unit designation - $1
  • Federal tax lien or release - $10
  • Survey map filing fee - $20 per page
  • Survey affidavit, amendment, or other survey document - $10
  • Military discharge - No charge
  • Certification per document is $5 plus $0.25 per page
Other Recorder's Office Fees
  • 18-by-18-inch plat map - $3
  • 24-by-36-inch plat map or survey map - $5
  • Copy of military discharge including certification - No charge
  • Electronic files will be charged on content (JPEG files only) - $1 per parcel
  • Electronic mailing lists or group lists - $0.10 per account or name
  • Electronic maps 18 by 18 inches in size (JPEG) - $3 each
  • Electronic maps 24 by 36 inches in size (JPEG) - $5 each
  • Email copies - $2, plus $0.25 per page
  • Fax copies - $2, plus $0.25 per page
  • GIS maps - $35 (GIS maps are available at the Road Shed / GIS Department)
  • Mailing lists or other group lists - $0.25 per page
  • Microfilm (subject to cost increase from state archives) - $20 per roll
  • Photocopy (8.5 by 11 inch, 8.5 by 14 inch, or 11 by 17 inch) - $0.25
  • Scanned images CD (CD will hold up to five rolls of microfilm) - $100
  • Mailing, Fax, or Email Fee - $2
